Once you have had success in a particular niche, it is not hard to imagine what would happen if you were able to dominate a larger segment of that niche.  Fame and fortune could be yours if you are able to successfully identify and develop a niche marketing plan that addresses the needs of a niche audience.

Niche marketing is the best way to get a foothold in a niche with the intentions of taking your position to the next level.  Once you have provided solutions that solve the needs of the subset of a large audience you simply have to think laterally and expand upon your success.

In order to truly dominate a niche, you need to have multiple sites in multiple different sub-niches.  The real goal should be something along the lines of "wherever you go - there I am".

This concept is best explained by example.  Let's say that you were targeting the "camping equipment rental" niche.  By developing multiple niche sites and services, you could dominate the larger niche of "camping equipment".

When it comes to niches and sub niches, it is often the case that the sum of the parts is bigger than the whole.  What this means is that there is more interest in the smaller sub niches combined than the big niche it's self.

You have the additional advantage as a niche marketer of being able to craft a direct, targeted message designed to appeal to each niche group.  From a conversion standpoint, this is likely to be more effective than attempting to target the larger group as a whole.

By focusing on smaller sub sets of niches, you can achieve niche domination one piece at a time.
